Foreword

The intention of this web-site is to provide some general background information on the ß₂-agonist approach to the treatment of asthma. It is particularly aimed to the second year students of the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Montpellier (ENSCM) who have the possibility to carry-out the synthesis of two well known GSK drugs, Salbutamol^® and Salmeterol^® as part of their practical experimental training.
